Description
Are you looking for accountability in your writing practice?
Are you looking for a community of fellow writers—a community that you can participate in, actively?
If so, then this class is for you!
The idea of this one-session class is to jumpstart a writing group—an independent community of writers who regularly meet (virtually or in real life) to give helpful, generative feedback on one another’s work, to offer friendship, support, and advice, and to make the journey of being a writer more doable. We’ll discuss literary citizenship, explore different models for organizing and running writing groups, and end with concrete “first steps” for action. There will be the opportunity for you to form, join, or revitalize a writing group, right then and there.
The goal will be for everyone to walk out feeling excited to participate in meaningful ways in a writing group.
