In this class, we’ll learn the philosophy and methods that have made The Onion the greatest publication in the history of human civilization.

Students will receive an abridged overview of concepts and rules from The Onion’s deep vault of comedy techniques, which will give them a strong foundation for creating effective satire of any form, in any medium. Participants can expect to pitch and receive feedback on several sample headlines in a mock writers’ room built on productive honesty and mutual respect, graduating with a keener ear for subtext and an eye for worthy targets.
