Description

Travel writing is frequently immersive, full of scents and sounds and visuals. Through a series of quick weekly prompts, we will work on awakening the senses in your writing. Editors need the first page to be compelling before they even read an essay, so we will work on starting strong, with a clear sense of place.

We will work on narrative arcs in different kinds of travel stories, from the thought-provoking to the stunningly gorgeous. Participants will be required to workshop at least one travel-related article during the course of the four weeks. After the claustrophobia of the pandemic years, I am sure everyone will have a transportive story to tell!
