Description

*This class takes place over 5 consecutive mornings*

If you’ve ever wanted to attend a writing retreat but find yourself short on time and money, are struggling to start or make progress on a project, or tend to lose focus in the summer, this is the class for you.

Each morning session we will start with a physical yoga practice. Then, students will share their goals or intentions. Prompts will be provided, and on starting on day 2, prompts and readings will be tailored to students’ individual project goals and productivity blocks.

Some sample readings might include selections from Anne Lamott’s Bird by Bird, Ranier Maria Rilke’s Letters to a Young Poet, or Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s Flow. At the end of each session, students will share their progress and goals for the day. A slack channel will be available for accountability and commiseration after we log off Zoom and continue our individual writing. Our final class will spend time helping students integrate a more regular writing schedule into their weekly routine.

We are able to offer a limited amount of both 50% scholarships for our multi-week classes and 100% scholarships for our single-session classes on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students may receive one scholarship per term. Click here to apply for a scholarship spot.
