Sahar Mustafah is the author of Code of the West, an award-winning short story collection published in August 2017 by Willow Books. Her stories have earned a Distinguished Story citation from Best American Short Stories 2016, First Place in Fiction from the Guild Literary Complex of Chicago, and two Pushcart Prize nominations, among other honors. She earned her MFA from Columbia College Chicago where she was a Follett Scholar and the recipient of the David Friedman Award for Best Fiction. Her first novel, The Beauty of Your Face, is forthcoming from W.W. Norton. She currently writes and teaches in Illinois and is co-founder of Bird’s Thumb, an online literary magazine devoted to new and emerging voices.
