StoryStudio Chicago invites you to a special experience: introducing Breakfast & Book Club!
We’re so sorry, this event is currently sold out. Please click here to put your name on the waitlist in case a spot opens up.
We’re thrilled to bring New York Times bestselling author Lauren Groff to Chicago for an intimate breakfast, book discussion, and signing. You can enjoy coffee, hot tea, juice, fruit, and a breakfast selection while Lauren and your peers discuss her new book The Vaster Wilds. Groff’s newest novel is out September 12. Here’s a little about it:
A servant girl escapes from a colonial settlement in the wilderness. She carries nothing with her but her wits, a few possessions, and the spark of god that burns hot within her. What she finds in this terra incognita is beyond the limits of her imagination and will bend her belief in everything that her own civilization has taught her.
Lauren Groff’s new novel is at once a thrilling adventure story and a penetrating fable about trying to find a new way of living in a world succumbing to the churn of colonialism. The Vaster Wilds is a work of raw and prophetic power that tells the story of America in miniature, through one girl at a hinge point in history, to ask how—and if—we can adapt quickly enough to save ourselves.
With a limited attendance capacity, this will be a rare opportunity to chat with Groff about her work and novel, as well as get to know fellow fans and readers in Chicago. You are welcome to bring copies of your Groff books to the event, and copies will also be for sale on-site.
This event will be held at one of our Board member’s homes in Lincoln Park. The event will begin at 9:30am on Thursday, October 5, and end at 11:30am. Coffee, tea, juice, fruit, and assorted breakfast items will be available.
