Chaitali Sen

Chaitali Sen’s story collection A New Race of Men from Heaven (Sarabande Books, 2023) was selected by Danielle Evans as the winner of the 2021 Mary McCarthy Prize for Short Fiction. She is also the author of the novel The Pathless Sky (Europa Editions, 2015) and short stories and essays published by American Short Fiction, Boulevard, Colorado Review, Ecotone, Electric Literature, LitHub, Los Angeles Review of Books, New England Review, Shenandoah, and many other journals. Her work has earned a starred review in Kirkus and special mentions in the Pushcart Prize and Best American Short Story anthologies. She holds an MFA in Fiction from Hunter College, has a background in public education, and for the last several years has been teaching popular classes and workshops with Writers’ League of Texas, Writing Workshops Dallas, The Writing Barn, and other organizations.
