Kris Gevorgyan

Kris Gevorgyan is a writer, high school English teacher, and youth advocate whose passion is helping young people discover their unique writers’ voices. She has spent the last eleven years working with the teens of Chicago across the South, West, and North sides in all types of schools ranging from alternative, charter, public, and private. Her biggest passion in life is facilitating spaces of creative expression and being in the presence of fellow writing enthusiasts. A graduate of UIC with a Master’s Degree in Youth Development, she is currently teaching creative writing to highschoolers in Roscoe Village as well as running the school’s slam poetry team. She lives in Oak Park with her fellow educator husband and their precious fur baby named Kismet, who is a blue heeler pointer mix mutt.
