Audrey Petty has taught creative writing at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Knox College, Northwestern University and Portland State University. Her poems have been published in Cimarron Review and Crab Orchard Review, and her stories have been featured in such publications as Massachusetts Review, Callaloo, StoryQuarterly and Painted Bride Quarterly. Her essays have appeared in Columbia Review, The Oxford American, Saveur, ColorLines, Gravy and The Southern Review, among other publications. Audrey is the editor of High Rise Stories: Voices from Chicago Public Housing (McSweeney’s/Voice of Witness). She currently directs The Odyssey Project at Illinois Humanities and teaches in the Prison+Neighborhood Arts Project.
