Jeannine Burgdorf is a writer and performer in Chicago. She was a member of the production team and an actor in the web series The Open Mic, an episodic story about starting out in stand-up comedy in Chicago. She has performed stand-up comedy and storytelling at The Kates, Serving the Sentence, and Is This a Thing?, among other shows. Her fiction has been published in Orange Quarterly and New Reader Magazine, and her nonfiction has appeared in Chicago Review of Books. A native of Cincinnati, Jeannine has been a student and volunteer of Story Studio Chicago since 2008 and currently serves on the advisory committee to the board of directors which hosts their yearly writer’s festival. She is a 2019 Fellow of the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) in Amherst, Virginia.
