Welcome to our Writers Room!
StoryStudio’s Writers Room service offers members use of our studio space for writing on Tuesdays and Fridays, by reservation. Our hope is that our space can provide concentration and inspiration away from distractions. This is your time to write or read without interruption.

How Does It Work?
Our entire studio will be available to writers who purchase sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays of most weeks, with exceptions for certain holidays. Writing sessions begin at 9am and last through 5pm; you may arrive whenever you’d like within that window and stay as long as you need. We just request you list your arrival time and stick to that timeline.
- We offer individual writing day reservations at $15 for each visit.
- You can save by purchasing a 10-pack for $100. The 10-pack is good for an entire year from the date of purchase. You may use your 10 visits any time you wish within a 12-month period.
Reservations are first come, first served. You may reserve up to 10 sessions at a time.
What Do You Get?
We will limit reservations to three writers each day in order to appropriately social distance throughout the studio. We have three rooms, so this means six feet distance can be easily maintained by all writers.
Each room has wall outlets for plugging in your laptops. The two classrooms have tables for writing, whereas the living room has transportable lap-desks. All spaces have free WiFi.
You’re also welcome to use the kitchen and mini-library area. We have a fridge and microwave, as well as a bookshelf where you can check out books and literary magazines. When it’s safe again to do so, we will provide coffee and tea. We’re a writing center, so there is no shortage of paper, pens, whiteboards, and lap desks, should you want to make use of any. Cleanings will happen regularly on every surface.

GUIDELINES
Please respect the writing time of your fellow writers. If you like to listen to music, we ask that you do it through headphones. Community is important to us, and conversation is fine as long as you are not interrupting or keeping a writer from their time. Please keep your distance when picking seats in the classrooms and living room. All writers must keep 6 feet apart. If two writers agree to take their masks off in one room, that is allowed, though masks must be worn when walking through the building and other parts of the studio. If you become disruptive or inconsiderate of our space or your fellow writers, or fail to adhere to our guidelines, we reserve the right to ask you to leave.

FAQs
Restrooms?
The building has a restroom that can be accessed with keys located in the Studio. Cleanings are done daily by building staff.
Food and Drinks?
Currently, we do not have complimentary coffee and tea, though everyone is more than welcome to bring their own beverages for individual consumption. Food is also welcome, and we have a fridge and microwave for your use.
Is the Studio Handicap accessible?
The historic building where we are located has an elevator up to our second floor loft, but there are three small steps that will need to be navigated.
Can I print?
Unfortunately, printing is not available at this time.
What is your cancellation policy?
We will refund cancelled reservations if notice is given at least 3 days in advance. NOTE: Given the extremely limited capacity at this time, please give us as much notice as possible if you need to give up your reserved slot. Also please consider the staff does not come in to the Studio unless someone has reserved the space, so please keep their schedules in mind when changing yours.
We understand emergencies can come up, and we can be flexible in these cases. However, anyone who has more than 2 last-minute (less than 24 hours) cancellations will be charged for the 3rd (etc) reservations. If you have a 10-pack, any last-minute cancelled reservation after #2 will be considered using one of those 10.
